NL Holdem Poker- Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer was born into in a family of 5 where he loved playing numerous card games at a young age. He found himself becoming really aggressive in these particular card games as he was competing against his father. After finishing secondary school, Howard decided to place higher education on hold for a bit and relocated to New York to participate in some serious chess. While participating in chess, he was introduced to a poker game going on in the back of the room. Howard’s first 2 years were tough as he played countless hours and fail to win a majority of the time. He earned some extra money by being an runner for the poker players. He judged he possibly could boost his game by balancing his life outside of poker. He made an effort to acquire more rest and focus attention more on poker.

The real advancement in his skills began when he began betting at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the best players would often play against each other. He was able to access some of the greatest players in chess. With their help, he would hone his strategic thinking abilities. Howard used these strategy ideas in the game of NL hold’em.

Howard also helped his sister Annie Duke learn poker. She was a great student of poker as she constantly asked questions about how to make the correct choice. Howard Lederer told Annie to move out to Sin City and play in the WSOP competition. Annie is one of the strongest women players the poker arena today. Howard Lederer headed to Las Vegas in 1993 and participated in cash games for the successive decade. When the WPT gained popularity, Howard made the decision to play more tournaments.
