Double-hand Poker is a current game with ancient origins. Based on the ancient Chinese domino game and the modern American version of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the far east with the wild west in an excellent game for beginner level players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the player vs. the croupier, unlike most other poker games that players play against other players. By wagering against the dealer, starting players don’t have to worry about any other, more experienced individuals winning their moolla.

Another Pai Gow benefit is the fairly slow game play, novices are able to take their time and strategize without needing to make quick selections.

It’s also simpler to participate in for an extended time with just a small bit of cash after all, to not win, each of your hands has to be lower than both of the houses hands.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the familiar 52-card common deck and one joker. The player is assigned 7 cards face up and the dealer gets seven cards face down.

One 5 card hand and a two card hand have to be put together from the 7 cards, the five card hand has to be stronger than the two card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand values to be better than the casino’s.
